Dragon Mania Legends Wins Prestigious Awards at Green Game Jam 2024

PARIS, FRANCE November 19, 2024 — Gameloft, a leader in game development and publishing, proudly announces that its family-friendly mobile game, Dragon Mania Legends, has won the UNEP’s Choice Award and Google’s Choice Award as part of the Green Game Jam 2024, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.

Participating in the Green Game Jam for the third consecutive year, Gameloft is proud to celebrate this collective victory alongside other leading game studios. The Green Game Jam, run by Playing for the Planet, an initiative facilitated by the United Nations Environment Programme, is an annual challenge that prompts game developers to incorporate environmental messaging into their games, with a focus this year on players taking action in the real world.

Dragon Mania Legends’ Green Game Jam activation raises players’ awareness on the way we can contribute protecting the planet by recycling batteries in a responsible way and avoid environmental damage from hazardous materials like lead, cadmium, mercury, or lithium.

In the In-Game Runner Event, players will gather improperly disposed of batteries with the Battery Dragon, featuring a recycle sign, while navigating a waste-filled environment with trash barriers. Additionally, players will be invited to use the game's new AR function to help identify batteries around their home that need to be properly disposed of.
