The mobile racing phenomenon with over 50 million downloads races to China
Paris, August 7th, 2019 – Gameloft, leader in the development and publishing of games, and Alibaba Interactive Entertainment, the mobile distribution platform from Alibaba Digital Media & Entertainment Group, today announced a strategic partnership to bring Asphalt 9: Legends, the latest entry in the world’s most downloaded mobile racing franchise, in China, on August, 8th on App Store and August, 15th on Android stores.
Created by Gameloft Barcelona and released in 2018, Asphalt 9: Legends quickly became the critically acclaimed and multi-awarded reference of mobile arcade racing games. The game lets players experience the thrill and fun of racing the world’s most famous cars with a graphic quality only ever seen on consoles before, allowing it to win several awards including the prestigious 2019 Apple Design Award.
Distributed by Alibaba Interactive Entertainment, this new version of Asphalt 9: Legends will offer Chinese players a unique arcade racing experience where they can perfect their skills, prove their worth, and become legends while cruising across awe-inspiring tracks set around the world. Asphalt 9: Legends launches in China with nearly 65 super and hyper cars including some of the fastest, rarest, and most prestigious cars ever made, such as the Bugatti Chiron, the McLaren P1 and the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio, exclusive to Asphalt 9: Legends.
Gameloft’s development teams have worked closely with Alibaba Interactive Entertainment to publish a version of Asphalt 9: Legends tailored to meet the play styles of mobile players in China. This partnership with one of the leading Chinese mobile distribution platform will allow Gameloft to reinforce its presence in China.
