At the laudable initiative of our Community, we carry through a particularly moving set of Squadmates. With the occasion of Memorial Day, celebrated each May, we plan on coming together to honor some of the long-time players who have passed away. Our intention is to pay homage to those who have positively impacted the community by immortalizing them as Squadmates.
The Memorial Squad
The Sniper Fury team shaped recruitable in-game squadmates inspired from real players, each carrying the names of the people they were modeled after. They all have their own unique fighting style and perks, but to make sure to represent them in a respectful manner, we called on the community for help. And they heeded the call. They provided names & nicknames, even backstories, and a small glimpse into some of their lives.
Words from the game team
Our hopes are that the Squads will be not only a fitting tribute to the players who are no longer with us, but also a celebration of their lives.
“These topics sadden us, one of our players dying is always a terrible loss. We try to commemorate them with decency and respect both in-game and within the community. During these events our most important focus is to celebrate their lives as important members, and to try to pay our respects alongside their friends in game.”
- Sniper Fury Associate Producer
“When I heard about this initiative I couldn't help feeling a kind of sadness, but I am impressed by the fact that the players developed such a good connection and they care about each other. As a UI developer, my job is to integrate the squadmates in the game and to make sure that they look as good as possible. From now on, I think these players will remain in the memory of the community as long as Sniper Fury exists.”
- Sniper Fury UI Design
“I was very moved to learn that some of our long-standing community members are sadly no longer with us. This put a whole new perspective on the breadth and depth of our long evolution of Sniper Fury. Realizing that people came together and cared enough for each other that the departure of some players from this world was felt within the community was deeply humbling. I congratulate the team for their involvement with the community and for making the Memorial Squad possible.”
- Sniper Fury Game Manager
“Seeing a game's community grow and spark genuine connections and lasting friendships was an amazing experience. Being able to contribute to the members of that community and pay respect to them through my writing was a humbling experience - and it was my honor to do so.”

Encouragements from the Community
Our players are the spark that lit this whole thing up! They were the first to suggest we commemorate the players that are not with us anymore, back in November 2020.
“Heroes never die, as they say, they just fade away. Yet they live on in our thoughts and memories long after they fade into the mists of time. But some are not willing to go quietly, they wish to return and fight once more.
These souls have climbed back from the darkness, to join in the light once more, bringing with them unique skills and traits needed in the battle.
From all over the Sniper Fury world, across countries and platforms they have formed one of a kind squads, In Memory Of those who fought in life and in the game.
Why did I want this squad? I believe the best way to mourn for someone is to remember them, the good, and the bad. It might just be a game but they were real people, with real lives, and to forget them seems like an insult. They touched people in the game, and for some, in real life. So I want to celebrate them, remember them. Keep their stories going.”
This is the second year of releasing a Memorial Squad, and we plan on continuing to commemorate members of the Community year after year.
